The Farm

Honest Eats Farm, LLC broke ground in 2012 with the mission to provide organically grown food to the residents of Southeast Michigan along with the tools they need to get it to the table.

In 2016 we put down roots and moved to our permanent location in Stockbridge MI. This will allow us to continue in our mission to provide the best tasting food to the residents of the Ann Arbor, Jackson, and Lansing areas.

We want you to have peace of mind knowing who is growing your food and how it is being grown. While we are not Certified Organic, we do use organic farming practices, non-GMO seeds, and natural cycles at all times so that the food on your table contains no synthetic substances – just the way nature intended.

Visits to the farm are welcomed and encouraged so that you can see for yourself how we grow your food.

When I was a child my earliest memories were of watching in awe as the northeastern Ohio dairy and grain farmers planted, tended, and harvested their crops. I would use my own farm equipment (John Deere toy tractors and implements) in my grandparent’s garden to "harvest" green beans and prepare them for freezing: snapping beans, putting them on the elevator and sending them up to Gram waiting at the kitchen table.

My passion for farming followed me as I moved around the country: the suburbs of southeast Michigan, East Lansing, Michigan, Memphis Tennessee, and now to Ypsilanti, Michigan.

I always considered being a farmer and owning my own farm as just a dream. Life is funny sometimes. After being laid off from my position as a software developer in 2011 and, with the support and encouragement of my wife and family, I enrolled in Michigan State University’s Organic Farmer Training Program in March of 2011 and after graduating with honors in November 2011 it was time to make me dream come true.

That dream is Honest Eats Farm and with your support it will continue to grow and prosper.



When I was a child in Tennessee, my grandfather tilled our entire backyard save for a swatch just big enough space for my swing set! Eggplant, tomatoes, okra and greens went straight to our table as soon as they were ready.

When I grew up though, it was hard to be proud of the meals I provided for my family. As a working, single mother of four, "cooking" usually meant opening a jar of spaghetti sauce and boiling pasta! In 2006, we moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan and soon had our first backyard garden to supplement our meals. In 2011, we made the leap to becoming a full-time farming family.

Admittedly, I never dreamed of being a farmer. But I have always dreamed of making a difference. Now, I get to use 25 years of business experience to support my community in providing food to their families that they can be proud of.
